Your mission
As the Finance Manager at Impossible Founders gGmbH, you’ll take ownership of our financial reporting, controlling, and planning. You’ll be a strategic partner to the CFO and the key interface between the Finance Lead and bookkeeping, build and operate our finance structures, and ensure that our organization and stakeholders are provided with sound financial insights. We’re looking for someone who combines analytical strength, structure, and a startup mindset.
Reporting & Performance Steering
- Manage and continuously improve our lean, effective reporting system (dashboards, KPIs, and performance tracking).
- Prepare decision-ready analyses and presentations for the CFO, advisory board, and external partners.
Controlling, Planning & Financial Models- Operate and evolve our finance and controlling systems and processes.
- Maintain and develop financial models for forecasting and budgeting across projects and ventures.
- Document and control key venture and participation KPIs.
Accounting & Compliance Operations
- Manage and control our bookkeeping (debtors, creditors, expense management, assets, payroll, VAT declarations, etc.).
- Coordinate and manage external service providers (accounting, payroll, tax advisors, auditors).
Your profile

What matters most to us- 2+ years of experience in finance, financial and/or operational controlling, and bookkeeping — ideally in a startup or innovation-driven environment.
- Solid knowledge of accounting according to German GAAP (HGB); nonprofit experience is a plus (e.g., DATEV SKR42).
- Confident handling of day-to-day finance operations and external partners (accounting, payroll, tax, audit).
- You're analytical, structured, proactive — and you enjoy creating clarity in complexity
- Strong Excel skills and a digital-first mindset; you like working with modern reporting tools.
- You take initiative and enjoy working in a purpose-driven, entrepreneurial environment with real creative freedom.
- You communicate confidently in German and English.
